My name is Frances (Yifan) Zhang, a psychology major student at New York University. Growing up, I have started my journey with calligraphy ever since I was 5. I founded the first Chinese Calligraphy club in Ulink College of Shanghai and lead a team of 60 calligraphy lovers to create our own artworks. We organized fundraisers through selling our artworks. As a fan for Western culture, sometimes the overwhelming assimilation as I spent more time in the US could wash away what I was inherited with. But whenever I am holding my brush and facing that thin slice of white paper, I started to find the feeling of home and pride.
